Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) 1994
Graduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic (RMIT University) 2009

Dr Frederic Cappon is the founder and principal chiropractor of Joondalup Chiropractic, established in 1995, making him the longest-serving chiropractor in the Joondalup area. For over 30 years, Dr Cappon has been a trusted healthcare provider to the Joondalup and wider Perth community, with a reputation built on clinical excellence, sound judgement, and long-term results.

Graduating from RMIT University (Melbourne) with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic), Dr Cappon has spent decades refining his diagnostic skills and adjusting techniques. Over time, he has developed strong professional relationships with local GPs, medical specialists, and allied health practitioners, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time.

Renowned for his precision and experience, Dr Cappon is widely regarded as “the chiropractor other chiropractors trust” for their own care.

Proven Experience, Trusted Results

With three decades of hands-on practice, Dr Cappon has successfully treated thousands of patients, from newborns and families to elite athletes and seniors. His depth of experience allows him to:

  • Identify complex and atypical presentations

  • Differentiate mechanical pain from serious pathology

  • Know when chiropractic care is appropriate – and when referral is essential

Patients are encouraged to read our reviews, which consistently reflect trust, long-term care and life-changing outcomes.

Athlete, Coach, and Performance Specialist

Dr Cappon is not only a clinician but also a lifelong athlete, giving him a unique understanding of performance, recovery and injury prevention.

His athletic achievements include:

  • Completion of four Ironman triathlons in Australia, New Zealand and France.

  • Winner of the Yaberoo 15 km trail race (2022, 2024)

  • 3rd place at the Yaberoo 25 km trail race (2023)

  • 35.27 for 10,000 m at the John Gilmour Classic 2023 as a 52-year-old Masters athlete

  • Transcape SwimRun 2021 placing 3rd Male pair with his mate Murray

He continues to train daily and compete, offering patients practical, experience-based advice on strength training, endurance preparation, injury prevention, sleep and recovery.

Chiropractic Care for Elite & Community Athletes

Dr Cappon has provided chiropractic care to generations of local athletes, including players from:

  • West Perth Football Club

  • Joondalup Brothers

  • Elite motorcross riders

His approach focuses on performance optimisation, durability and long-term athletic longevity not just short-term symptom relief.

Animal Chiropractic & Equine Expertise

In 2009, Dr Cappon completed a Graduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic at RMIT University, expanding his clinical expertise beyond human care. He has extensive experience in:

  • Small animal chiropractic

  • Eventing and classical dressage horses

It is not uncommon to see dogs and the odd cat at the clinic at the end of a busy day. Dr Cappon remains actively involved in classical dressage, currently training and riding his mare Allegra and understands firsthand the biomechanical demands placed on performance animals.

Deep Community Engagement & Leadership

Dr Cappon’s commitment to the community extends well beyond the clinic. His long-standing involvement includes:

  • Rotary Club (past-member)

  • Joondalup Business Association

  • Past-Executive member of the Chiropractic Association of Australia (CAA), serving as Chair of Public Education

  • Current member of Chiropractic Australia

  • Active firefighter and Crew Leader with the Chidlow Volunteer Bushfire Brigade (over 12 years of service)

Away from the practice, Dr Cappon lives on a farm with his family and four dogs where he trains horses, fixes fences, and feeds the chickens -bringing the same work ethic and grounded values into his clinical care.

Experience You Can Trust

Dr Cappon’s philosophy is simple: experience matters. Whether managing complex spinal conditions, advising on training and recovery, or recognising when further investigation is required, his goal is always the same – the best outcome for the patient.
