- Previous episode of low back pain
- Long periods sitting in the office or driving
- Repetitive bending and lifting at work or the gym – especially when performed to exhaustion
- Poor general health – poor diet, inadequate exercise and emotional stress
- Less than 7 hours sleep per night
- Poor posture sitting – slumped in a chair
- Poor bending posture – bending from the waist and twisting while in a bent position
- Tight Hip flexors, hamstrings and back muscles
